The château can cater for four or five separate families and our aim is to create the feel of a sociable weekend house party with everyone eating together in the grand salon or, weather permitting, in the courtyard. However, if you would prefer to eat separately with your family, we will gladly set up a private table in the library or on the castle terrace in warmer weather.

The chateau has a wide range of room sizes. Most of the main double bedrooms in the chateau are easily large enough to add a separate single bed for a child if you want to share a room. We have a fabulous family room that sleeps four and a studio bedroom that can sleep up to six. The two smaller bedrooms in the wing make a perfect family suite.

We offer a breakfast and a three course evening meal, we do not normally serve lunches here but there are plenty of local restaurants that we can direct you to. Our exeat weekend menus are designed to keep all members of the family satisfied with the accent on tasty homely cooking, culminating in a classic roast lunch on Sunday. Everything is freshly made using the best of the local ingredients, exploiting what is in season. If you have fussy eaters or specific allergies in the family just let us know and we will prepare something special.

There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out, with two formal lounges and a separate children’s lounge. We have a snooker room with a full sized table, table tennis and baby-foot. There is a 16m swimming pool, tennis court, trampoline and area for other games all set within the 11 hectares of grounds.

Lartigolle is just 20 minutes from Château de Sauveterre school. You will also find quad biking, treetop adventure parks, horse riding and golf all close by. The Pyrenees are an hour and a half away for skiing, mountain biking, rafting, canoeing and beautiful picnic spots.

We have reserved a number of exeat weekends for the sole use of parents of children attending Sauveterre, with a discounted rate agreed with the headmaster, Duncan Bailey.
